Your second image for out of focus is my favorite of the photos! Its so interesting and caught my eye right away. I am not super sure if your shallow depth of field is actually shallow depth of field, maybe because the photos are dark. I do think your 3rd picture for out of focus though is super interesting with the blue and water drops, etc. nice job!
Laura, I'm not sure some of these are fulfilling the need of being out of focus. I think your strongest photo is the third for the out of focus. The light was super color and interesting, but it might be better suited for light or movement in your portfolio. I'm not sure I was sold on it being out of focus enough. The second photo for out of focus seems just too bland and its editing does nothing for me. On the shallow focus, I'm not sure if anything is blurred yet. I think you might need to take the photos a step further because I'm currently not seeing any blurring and I think that is important. I really love the last photo though and think the color in it is wonderful and captivating.
