I think your "shallow DOF" photos are successful. I especially love the 3rd image - I like its composition and the opposing lines that are within the photo. I also though that the 2nd image for "shallow DOF" was really intriguing. To me, it almost conveys a feeling of loneliness/abandonment. As for the "out of focus" images, the first image is a good example! I feel that because it is out of focus, the mood around the image is different. The choice of B&W and the reflections also add to the mood of the image. However, I feel that the rest were images with "shallow DOF" rather than out of focus.
