Hi Eleanor! First off, I absolutely love the spider web in your first photo. It looks so delicate and your eye really has to focus to see what it is. Nice work! I think your second and third images are fine, but could use a little jazzing up. Not bad, but I think they could be better. As far as your last image, I also think this could be replaced (or omitted since we only need 4 photos of this assignment in the final). When my eyes try to figure out what it is, I settle on a tree branch and I wish it was more playful so it tricks you into thinking it could possibly be something else. All in all, nice work!
I really like your 3rd image for "shallow DOF". I think that the geometry and the droplets are so pleasing to the eye. It is a simple photo, but so elegant - in my opinion. I also like how you kept the sides so that it frames your image, I think that adds to the quality of the photo. I think the 2nd image for shallow DOF could use a stringer subject. The droplets look good, but are not strong subjects. As for the "out of focus" images, your first photo is very intriguing to me. I like how simple it is and how the window(?) frames the subject. Overall, I think this is a good set for the assignment.
