Hi Julia. I would go back out and retake your images. I'm most cases the idea of the image as a metaphor doesn't really happen in these and they are merely just darker, brighter or gray images. The challenge is to evoke a feeling through this technique and to change the way the content in the photo is experienced by the viewer. I also don't think that the compositional elements or lighting in these is very strong. Good Luck!
Hi Julia, I think my favorite image is your first image. I do get some feeling when looking out the window and seeing that overcast and grey day. I think your other images are lacking in subject matter a little bit. I think if you're going to take photos with very simple subject matters, you have to get very creative with your approach to photographing them. I think the white images look a little too forced in the processing. I think if you experiment a little more you'll have some great images. Good luck!
Hi Julia, I like the images you put together this week, but I think you can push it even further. You have done a great job with light, producing deeply dark images as well as bright, white photos. I think your images are interesting in that I really don't know what exactly I am looking at, but also unsuccessful in that same regard. I would love to see you use a singular subject or something similar to draw the viewers attention, and make your images even stronger. Keep it up and I look forward to seeing your final images!!
