Devitt: Exposure as a Metaphor WIP

 1. Almost Black

I have a feeling these may be a bit dark - if so, let me know and I can work on making them a bit brighter.

 2. Almost White

I am currently unsure of whether these should be under gray or white - also I know I photographed my dog but I felt like these came out nice.

 3. Nothing But Gray

  1. Dont change anything about the black ones!! I dont think they are too dark at all they are gorgeous same goes for your first white picture of the puppy! I think your first gray picture is awesome but the other two look like they could be apart of the almost white photos, they dont look very gray to me.

  2. Your black pictures really caught my eye-- the stars on his face add an interesting element that really catch my attention. I think your least strong photos are probably the white ones as they don't really tell me a story. I'd like to see something a little more theatrical like the first image. Perhaps just incorporating some props would add some interesting elements to your image?

  3. Hi Skylar. I think your tonal ranges are pretty good overall. However I would love to see a bit more exciting compositions and creativity in most of the images. They are certainly satisfying the technical side of the assignment, I also know that you can create more powerful photographs. With the Black and White subjects you are working with I would think they would be more successful if you were to get closer and find a more interesting composition. You sky in the Gray images is nice, but the other have way too much white in them to be considered Nothing But Gray! Good Luck!
