I really love your split toned image, I think it fits the assignment and shows great light. I think that your square image is beautiful but it looks a bit noisy, not sure if its from the camera, editing or the uploading process. I think there is a way to eliminate some of the noise, however, I personally wouldn't eliminate all of it, I think in some ways it helps emphasize the flame. The vignette is beautiful but is not super abstract, I know what it is just by looking at it. I do love the B&W flame though, the fact that its so close up and in black and white, it makes it easy to see details that you normally wouldn't notice.
Wow! I loved looking at you images! I think you did such a nice job with both using abstract and light. I also love how the colors pop against the black backgrounds especially the green image. The only thing I would say would be to make the first image a bit darker and have a darker background so the flame can stand out more.
Hi Skylar. You have some really weird stuff! LOL These are a really nice start. One of the reasons they abstract is because the object you are using is already kind of unique in it shape, patterning and texture. I'm going to challenge you to create at least two abstractions with normal everyday objects or places and I would also challenge you to back up and show more space. I think the one thing that is holding me back on these is that in most of them they are single object with a black or dark background. I'd love to see if you can make a successful abstraction where there are multiple objects overlapping and even receding in space. In most cases your edits in LR work, however the green is a bit too green for my taste. Good Luck!
