Bryce Time and Movement WIP

  1. Bryce,
I really think your first image is working to catch movement in a really interesting way. I also liked seeing what it was from further away (even though I don't really think that picture is necessarily the strongest). I would 100% keep the first photo and recommend making further edits on this. I think toning the exposure down would be really important on that picture because the sky in the background is so bright it almost detracts from seeing the swirling/spinning of the baseball throwing machine. I also like the water one, I think the vignette is currently a bit overpowering though and would recommend toning it down.
    Great work!

  2. Bryce,
I think you have a good start for this assignment. I agree with Skylar in saying that your first image is most interesting. Maybe see if you can incorporate more movement into the image, so that the person viewing the images understands the speed the wheels are turning on the machine. Maybe trying to capture the ball going through it. For the second image, I think it would be more successful if the receiver was moving/ running a route. Having him in clear focus with the ball approaching, while all aspects of the background are blurred to display his speed will also make this image more interesting. The third image doesn't do much in terms of movement for me, but maybe try some longer exposures to see what it does with the water ripples. I think you're off to a great start and can definitely provide us with some really cool images for the final. Best of luck!

  3. Hi Bryce. You have the movement partially down with these, but now you need to make them interesting photographs. As I'm sure I will say many times in my comments, the movement in the images need to be a portion of an interesting and dynamic frame or composition. For example in the first image you have the spinning wheels, but then you have this clunky portion below it. In the second image, sure the football is in the air, but this entire scene the way you've presented it is more than likely only going to be interesting to someone that plays football. I think you need to push the creativity on the first two if you want them to be successful. Your third image is the one that works the best. FYI, you were to post at least 5 images. Good Luck!
