Bryce Abstraction WIP

  1. Hi Bryce! Obviously, you only have four photographs and you’re missing some of the edits such as the square crop, but I think you’re on the right track. The two striking black and white shots of what I’m guessing as solar panels, tables, a bench? (I like the fact that I can’t tell!) caught my eye immediately. It made me think of one of Andy’s sample photos. I will say that I prefer the solid grid one (your second photo) than the other. The stark white in the third is interesting, but it also feels a bit like filler, if that makes sense. I might experiment with straightening tool on both photographs to make them more grid-like and aligned. The same thing goes with your final photograph and I would ever so slightly crop the pole on the left edge of the photograph out. Maybe even up the contrast? All in all though, it’s a nice start!

  2. What's up Bryce, I really like the collection of photos you uploaded as the all fit very well with the abstraction aspect. I especially like the third one as you clearly see the split in colors, as that was very good job by you. Overall I think you really captured the best photos for this abstraction assignment.

  3. Hi Bryce. Not a bad start at all. Spent a bit more time behind the camera and be more critical with your placement and framing. You are looking at the right subject to make Abstractions, but they need to be neater. Your third image is the strongest, because of the beautiful negative space that have. The others are missing that kind of space, but really do need it to be more successful. I also think stronger editing would also help these along. Keep photographing and use the sun early or late in the day to help create a more dynamic image. Good Luck!
