Annalee: Time & Movement WIP

Assignment 7: Time & Movement WIP

I have no clue how to get the subject to freeze while the background blurs. I've pretty much only figured out how to get stuff to blur.

  1. So in love with this series!!! They all capture time and movement so well and in a very visually interesting way. Im wondering if you can push the editing a little bit more though, I'd be curious to see the second picture in color. maybe you can make the shape black but change the lights to different colors?

  2. Annalee,
Really awesome set of photos. I'm particularly captivated with the shot of the quarter! I think it's such a simple thing and it really captures the movement well. As Cece said, I will agree on pushing your edits a bit further. I think that if you push the edits further the photos will look more distinct. On your second photo, you seem to have used the light painting technique and I think that is so fun, I'm not sure whether that fits the section of movement, but if it does than I think that's a really fun photo. I would love to see where you can further emphasize your photos.
    Great job!

  3. Hi Annalee. Nice start! I would replace the door knob and the one of oats or something from the kitchen. I think you should play around with a different crop on the first image. As per you comment with the post, you are not required to freeze your subject for the assignment. To do so however, you would need to be photographing in a location with a lot more light. When you are photographing at night and inside, you won't have enough light to allow you to use a fast enough shutter speed to freeze a moving subject. I'd be happy to meet with you over Zoom if you like me to walk you through shutter speeds again. Good Luck!
