Karissa Good is not the same as..
Important: The first image that came to mind was Gordon Parks's American Gothic for me. It is an example of photojournalism that is functioning also as art and is quoting art history in order to function as social-justice-oriented art. AND it was from the 1940s so it also captures the fashion of the time for a specific kind of person.

Useful: going the political route again... Photo courtesy of Roberto Schmidt for ABC news. This image is a tool to wield.
Interesting: this is just a photo that I took. It is not meant to be anything but it is a combination of reflective surfaces and I found it interesting!
Liking: this is a zoomed-in photo of me kissing my cat while she is in a box! It makes me laugh.
I think the photo you picked for useful was super smart for you to put. I completely agree that a photo like that is a tool to wield but it isn't necessarily an aesthetic photo. A photo like that also seems to fit for important as it clearly depicts an important place in time. Very smart and clever choice.
ReplyDeleteLove this series-- I also chose photos with political comments under those categories, so I completely agree with your selection. The last picture "liking" is absolutely adorable, I hope we get to see more of your cat in upcoming assignments
